“Los Peones” is a phrase I grew up hearing whenever I visited my mom’s home country. It refers to laborers and farm workers—the people who work day after day with their hands to make a living.

I remember seeing peones wearing jeans that were destroyed, stained, and worn down from the work they did every day. Those jeans weren’t made to look distressed—they became that way through labor.

I wanted to turn that reality into a piece that carries a reminder of gratitude. The MARFILLY Peso Cross is placed on the knees, representing the part of the jeans that takes the most wear from working on the ground.

The cross is a reminder to never take what we have for granted—to remember the people who work every day for very little, sometimes earning around a dollar a day, just to provide for themselves and their families.

These jeans represent labor, sacrifice, gratitude, and where we come from.
